Our Instructors

Alana Jaime

As a wife, and mother of 3 very active children, Alana understands the challenges and obstacles to find the time and energy to work out. It’s about working out smarter, not harder! Consistency is key! In group fitness, she brings an intensity to her participants to push them to their max and reach their best possible outcomes. She strives to help others obtain a love of health and fitness! Indoor cycling and strength training are her fitness loves.

Barbara Dupart

Barbara is our Yoga/ Yoga Flow instructor and is a former gymnast. She loves to continue to share her passion for fitness after retirement.
She says, “No matter your age, ability, or level of fitness ‘yoga’ meets you where you are and makes it better

Bella Bedortha

Bella spent most of her college years at USM as an International Business major, but then found she was called to the Health & Wellness field. She loves combining years of experience in fitness, spa and hospitality with her training in Bodywork, Yoga, Pilates, Nutrition, and Stress Management to help others find their best lives. Bella is a trainer for the leading global kid’s yoga company, Kidding Around Yoga and is excited to share the science of yoga with the youth at LSU Health Fitness.

Brooke Murdock

Recently moved to the Big Easy from Oklahoma, Brooke brings a special energy into our cycle studio. 15 years in fitness and self-proclaimed cycle-addict, Brooke guides her riders in dynamic 30 and 50 minute rides.

Melissa McClendon

Melissa McClendon is a kinesiology specialist with 20 years proven involvement. Melissa is an experienced coach for adults and young people in track, swimming, softball, baseball, and weight lifting. She is a certified instructor for powerlifting, Olympic lifting, and group functional fitness. Her degree in Health & Physical Education, training as a nutrition and group fitness expert have been a spring board for a lifelong passion to help others pursue wellness.

Her inner athlete continues with her favorite workouts involving strength training!

Misty Romain

Misty Romain is a certified fitness instructor and personal trainer and has been sharing her love of fitness for over 25 years. Let Misty’s bubbly personality and her passion for fitness inspire you to – “Do your best and forget the rest!

Her belief in “You only have one body and one life, give it your all” shines in all she does.

Peter Spera, Jr.

Peter began his yoga teaching experience in 2009. He is a registered Yoga Teacher with an RYT 200 level certificate from the Yoga Alliance Foundation and has practiced under the tutelage of some of the most successful yoga teachers in the New Orleans area. When not practicing yoga, Peter is a volunteer radio reader for the Blind and Print Handicapped.

Rukeisha “Ru” Casimier

Rukeisha Casimier studied at Tulane University of New Orleans, New Orleans Ballet Association (NOBA), New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD), Julian Academy of Dance, Greater YMCA, Casimier Home Schooling, and Spiritual Dance.
She currently teaches Zin-Zumba, Line Dance, Aqua Aerobics and SilverSneakers License and certified to teach many other classes.

Ron Barnes

Ron has been in fitness for 15 years and played basketball in his college days. He uses functional plyometric-based training, along with rehabilitative and strength training to enhance his client’s fitness journey.

He brings a fun forcefulness to push his participants out of their comfort zone and into change!

Wayne Scott

Wayne is a New Orleans native – born, raised, and currently living on the West Bank. He is a proud military veteran, serving with the Louisiana Air National Guard Security Forces for 12 years. He became a trainer because of his love of motivating and helping others to become the best version of themselves. He holds certifications as a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist. He loves to help his clients to overcome any imbalances with corrective measures. He also trains young athletes and coaches track and field.
