LSU Health Fitness, which boasts 45,000 square feet of recreational and fitness space, originally was built as a Navy Fitness Center for the military base. In 2011, the state and ADD invested $6.7 million in a five-year, three-phase renovation that expanded a small fitness center into a state of the art community wellness center, followed by the addition of an outdoor swimming pool to the site in Phase 2 and the development of a café and health and wellness site in Phase 3. Our café, called the Tiger Den, combines healthy eating and innovative flavors into regional favorites and is open to the public.
In 2020, we proudly announced a new partnership with Synergy Physical Therapy & Performance with the opening of their second location right here at the LSU Health Fitness Center. Patients are now able to enjoy the same treatment options and the same hands-on, individualized care that they know and expect from Synergy, in addition to orthopedic rehabilitation for post-operative care, as well as conservative treatment for orthopedic conditions on-site.
